Mullion Cove
Originally built in the 1890s and a mere 10-minute stroll from Trenance Farm Cottages, Mullion Cove is a stunning harbour surrounded by striking cliffs. It's a great spot for a fun-filled day out. Get out on the water – kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and coasteering are all options - explore the rock pools or try your hand at fishing. The Porthmellin café is a short three-minute walk when you’re ready to refuel.
The Chocolate Factory and Craft Centre
Officially the closest attractions in Cornwall to Trenance Farm Cottages, The Chocolate Factory and Craft Centre is just a few steps from our doorstep. Admission is free and you'll be greeted by the sweet aroma of chocolate. Watch skilled chocolatiers using traditional techniques to create irresistible chocolate bars, truffles and more. There is a café too, and a gift shop where you can purchase the tasty treats they craft here.
Lizard Adventure
There are plenty of clifftops and walks to experience the Cornish coastline from, but for the families or groups seeking different attractions in Cornwall, we highly recommend Lizard Adventure.
Take part in one of six activities, from paddle-boarding to coasteering, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to cool off from the sun and enjoy the Lizard Peninsula from the water. Equipment is available to hire, however you’ll need a pair of old trainers, as footwear is not provided. Depending on whether you have started at Hayle Harbour or Mullion Harbour, sessions can last anywhere between two to three hours.
With 30 years of experience, the Lizard Adventure team know how to have a good time whilst staying safe. If you’re lucky, you may even see some seals during your adventures.
St. Michaels Mount
Steeped in tales of giants and angels, this iconic tidal island with medieval castle and church, is one of the most popular attractions in Cornwall. Walk across the causeway at low tide or take a short boat trip to explore the island and enjoy the subtropical gardens. The Cornish Seal Sanctuary
Located just outside of eastern Helston, the quaint town of Gweek is home to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. Mullion Golf Club
Nestled on the clifftops of the Lizard Peninsula is the Mullion Golf Club, an 18-hole course with an incredible view. With a golfing experience this picturesque, it’s no wonder that the that Mullion Golf Club has been ranked in the National Club Golfers Top 100 hidden gems.
Ideal for the Tiger Woods in the family. It is conveniently located 5-minutes away by car from Trenance Farm Cottages. The course is maintained by Gordon, the head greenkeeper, who has perfected the art of course maintenance year-round.
The clubhouse is kitted out with everything you need after a successful round of golf. Real local Cornish ales coupled with the clubhouse’s fine dining are the perfect way to see off a round of golf, making this one of the best attractions in Cornwall for adults.
Lizard Lighthouse
Lizard Lighthouse offers fascinating insights into Cornwall’s maritime history and is the second oldest working lighthouse in the UK. One of our favourite attractions in Cornwall, you can visit the Heritage Centre to learn about the lighthouse's crucial role in guiding ships safely along the treacherous Cornish coast. At the Lizard Lighthouse, you’ll be standing on the most southerly point of the UK too.
