Poldhu Cove - Trenance Farm Cottages

Poldhu Cove

Famous for the being the place where the first Transatlantic radio signal was sent, Poldhu Cove, is a 30-minute walk (or 5-minute drive) from Trenance Farm Cottages. One of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall, it is perfect for families and water sports enthusiasts alike.

The cove is home to a surf school headed by professional surfer Dan Joel, who provides two-hour lessons for all skill levels for £35. Afterwards, the Poldhu Beach Café, conveniently located on the beach, is the perfect spot to relax with an ice-cream after a fun-filled day.

Kynance Cove - Trenance Farm Cottages

Kynance Cove

Kynance Cove is renowned for its Mediterranean like waters, white sandy shores, and serpent-like rock stacks. Often featured in travel magazines and guides, Kynance Cove is one of the most picture-perfect beaches in Cornwall.

We encourage you to arrive early during the summer months to avoid disappointment, as parking is limited. As you make your way down to the cove, spectacular views, perfect picnic spots, and glistening waters await. Please be careful though, as tide levels can change rapidly, and there are no lifeguards that patrol the beach.

Kennack Sands - Trenance Farm Cottages

Kennack Sands

Kennack sands is one of the only beaches in Cornwall to be recognised as a ‘nature reserve’ and it is a popular family-friendly beach. Divided into two east and west beaches by a small hill, it offers both a lifeguarded swimming area and a dog-friendly section on the eastern side.

The golden shores are ideal for building sandcastles or simply soaking up the sun, while the nearby walking trails provide excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting. Basking sharks can often be spotted close to the shoreline, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

Church Cove, Gunwalloe - Trenance Farm Cottages

Church Cove, Gunwalloe

If you’ve ever seen the TV show, Poldark, then you may be familiar with this entry on the list. Church Cove in Gunwalloe is unique not only for its appearance on screens, but also for its historic church, nicknamed the ‘Church of the Storms’, that is situated on the beach.

As one of the quieter beaches in Cornwall, This National Trust owned cove is perfect for families who are looking to escape the crowds. Tuck into snacks and refreshments from the beachside kiosk whilst you soak up the salty air and enjoy the sea breeze on your face.

Generic Cornwall Beach - Trenance Farm Cottages

Pollurian Cove

Located within walking distance of Trenance Farm Cottages, this hidden gem is sheltered by Cornish cliffs. Designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Pollurian Cove offers golden shores and is also a brilliant spot to catch some waves.

The coastal path connecting Mullion Cove to Polurrian Cove has breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding countryside. We recommend packing a picnic and plenty of water, as there are no facilities on the beach.

A peaceful harbor with several small boats on land, a stone building on a grassy hill, and calm water bordered by rock formations.

Mullion Cove

Known for its persistence against powerful storms, Mullion Cove is an unusual yet charming location that’s only a 2-minute drive away from our farm cottages.

The harbour at Mullion Cove was originally built to house smaller boats, but nowadays it is owned by the National Trust and sees less frequent use, making it ideal for getting an unobstructed view of the Cornish coastline and beyond. The cove has one small shop to buy snacks from, which is ideal for topping up on any goodies you didn’t pack for your trip.

Dogs are allowed in Mullion Cove, but we recommend keeping them on leads during windy days.
